•There are numerous patents for side-by-side twin bicycles.
•The earliest patent on record was granted to Mr. Rudolph W. Riess in 1892, demonstrating an interest in this type of bicycle for over a century.
•However, there is no evidence of a patented design that offered simultaneous flexibility along both the longitudinal and transverse axes.
•As far as we know, no commercially successful product has been developed in this category.
